Online math tutoring during COVID-19 situation

Dear parents and students,

In response to the increasing need for social distancing during the current COVID-19 situation, we will be temporarily suspending in-person tutoring sessions. Any unused payments will be credited toward future sessions, and all students will keep their scheduled timeslots once sessions resume.

We also recognize the need to continue to support students in their math learning before they move on to the next grade. We are now offering online tutoring sessions.

Signing in:

To join a class, click on the link that was sent to you to enter the online meeting room. The Zoom client software will be installed if you don't have it already. You will be in a virtual waiting room until your instructor is ready to start your session.

You can also manually join a meeting by starting Zoom and click on Join Meeting, and enter the meeting ID

System requirements:

Online learning (as with many technology based tasks) is smoother when devices are not too outdated. At the same time, we understand that families have a variety of system of differing capabilities. The following is a rough set of guidelines for system requirements.

  1. Computing device with internet access
  2. Ability to send images of worksheets and student work (e.g. phone camera, webcam, share documents)
  3. Audio strongly recommended
  4. Video recommended
  5. Touch enabled input optional but very useful

Grades 1-12 Math Coaching

Mindspark Math provides math coaching (tutoring and enrichment) from elementary to high school. Our focus is on building problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Our distinct style of math coaching resembles Math Circles rather than franchise tutoring.

  • Question of the Week for extended problem solving
  • Hands-on activities for math exploration
  • Problem solving with curriculum and math contest content

Grades 1-7: We help kids master math subjects such as arithmetic, decimals, fractions, and geometry. At the same time, there is a strong focus on developing problem solving skills.

Grades 8-12: We help students with mastering high school math subjects such as algebra, functions, geometry, trigonometry, and calculus using curriculum based materials, with extensions to topics as appropriate.
